Durham University’s Palatinate Orchestra presents an evening of music by Bernstein, Mazzoli and Rachmaninoff.Join us in our performance of Rachmaninoff’s colossal Second Symphony. Made popular through his eternally romantic sound, Rachmaninoff provides constant longing and drama in this triumphant work.

Also featured on the programme are Bernstein’s energetic curtain-raising Candide Overture and Missy Mazzoli’s Sinfonia (for Orbiting Spheres), performed both at the 2017 and 2023 BBC Proms in an expansive exploration of music ‘in the shape of our solar system’.
